Even though I already commented on your LJ... :) (I like to spread the commentage around.)

My diploma (which I only got a month ago... and then, only because I sent my Uni a very irate e-mail with a signature including my department info... -I think they thought I was a professor, and who was I to correct them?) is sitting in a teetering pile of old journal articles and class notes on my dresser. Brandon still hasn't received his, although I plan on having a silly little party when it does come.

If you end up in the UK (*crossing fingers*), I'll come and see you whenever I'm over there for a conference. Apparently, there's a conference in Brighton that I might go to... some time... with sufficient funding. :P I forget what it is, though, but I'll be saving my money for world travels, etc.

I thought of you earlier when I had my afternoon tea. Brandon made faces when he tried his tea with milk, but ended up liking it in the end.

I'm going to be in Huntsville next weekend. My mom has a knitting group that meets at Old Town on Sunday morning (I think). You should come if you're not doing church. Anyway, I'll call you to see what you're up to. :)

I can really relate to where you are coming from. I graduted from university about two years ago I still don't know whats going on. I just try and celebrate those small personal and professional victories. For the record I just turned 26.

Actors from the UK seem to find it the southern accent easiest to replicate. I understand why, I can hear similarities between them - as varied as they each are.

I can understand, too. I mean, what other kind of American accent would anyone want to replicate? ;-)

I had to really work on my vowels when I started college, but you can still catch me sometimes. I often wish I hadn't lost what little I had. Maybe, if the Brits can affect it, then I, by golly, can do it too!

I thought about not going to graduation, but ended up doing it because my friends and family really wanted me to go. Now I'm grateful for that. The speaker was really awesome, and I was excited the whole time. :) Going to the ceremony gives you a real sense of accomplishment, I think.

I would highly suggest taking the GRE, whether or not you are sure you want to go to grad school. It would at least get it out of the way, and if you don't like your scores and end up not applying, you have a good footing for replacing them later (although how graduate schools take replacement scores into account varies widely). My suggestion: study the verbal. It's a bitch.

I'm not entirely sure what graduate school in history/english/etc. would really entail, but it might be worth a shot. If you're not really sure you want to do it as your career, you could always apply to a masters program.

On a side note, I am the exact opposite for the morning. I wake up and hate the world. I need that twenty minute walk to school to gain perspective, so that I wont scowl and snap at people. :P

I know how you feel. I'm at least doing better at speaking to people these days, but that's about as far as it goes. You've been a good online friend for a long time, and I appreciate that, and I haven't forgotten the kind message you sent when I was hurt. But it seems we've barely spoken in person, and that's a shame. So let's do something sometime. ;-) *ducks* No, really. Do you like coffee? Or tea? Or similar substances?

I have a great classical mix CD called "Classical Music for Home Improvements." It never fails to pump me up to do something. You can see the listing here; I will make you a copy if you'd like. (Hoy, I am actually reading blogs now!)

It won't come through, and it doesn't even matter. I just get excited at the prospect of hanging out with people and doing something because I don't get to very often. Most of my life is spent doing homework and attempting to work.

Mostly, I am just irritated at my own problems and insecurities when it comes to socializing.

AND YAY FOR WEARING THE SAME JEANS FOR DAYS ON END.

BTW. You're awesome, I like you, and let's do something together after I graduate and decide to come to California to visit you. :-)
